This photo series, entitled, Leave it at my Door, utilizes images captured by food delivery drivers. This appropriated suite documents a sampling of my domestic food consumption habits. and highlight emerging dynamics between a consumer and a delivery worker.
Leave it at my Door, aims to capture the tension and humor that I often feel pervades my personal dining meal experiences. This public-private exchange is validated as my dinner is left on the hallway floor while a snapshot of it swiftly surfaces to my personal iPhone. Unlike the contrast of a heightened experience of a Japanese tea ceremony, this dining dynamic bookmarks a time in our current urban experiences that may be contributing to a changing the nature of social relationships. This dynamic seamlessly integrates into our daily mealtime routines while distancing us from those who prepare our food and provide these conveniences.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, app-based delivery became ubiquitous and essential. To confirm successful delivery, drivers must send photos of customers' orders at their doorsteps.
